B&G Flash
Looking to buy a B&G Flash pretty soon! I just got done with the crank sensor mod. I did notice a little more push off the line but im telling you it was a biotch snakin my arm around stuff to get it off! Two questions...
1.Before i get the flash i will have the 50mm fastman TB and i will be cuttn and smoothin my own intake manifold. What Reflash should i get??? The m1?
2. Can you take the flash out like per say you can de-program w/ the hypertech is there a way you can like un-flash it to orignal settings and reflash because im looking to put gears in my truck in the near future. or with the reflash does it auto learn it and correct it? thnx guys!
EDIT: will i have to run premium with the flash? And will it increase my mpg any?

I've looked into it and you do need premium gas, and they do have an option to download it to a superchips, or Diablo ( i think )that they list on their site, but its alot more. The flash should re-learn and make adjustments as you mod, but i'm not sure about gearing changes. They have a lot of this onfo and pricing on their site http://www.bgperformancepcm.com/.
you send in your pcm with the mods that you have on your truck and they permantly flash your computer with that program. The program is specifically made for your mods. So if you continue to mod it will not work as well as before. This is why it is recommended to do the bg flash near the last of your mod list.
You don't have to run 92 octane. It depends on the flash you get, the reason its recommended with SuperChips, Hypertech, ect., is that these programmers advance the timing which raises the risk for predetonation (ping, spark knock, ect.). By running 92+ octane this reduces the risk of predetonation.
First off do all the mods your going to do to the truck before you get the flash, otherwise it won't be as affective. Once all this is done, including regear and such (or if you know your going to regear in the near future just tell the the gear ratio your going to) send them your PCM and tell them all the mods you have done in detail. Also tell them that you really don't want to run premium if possible. They reprogram the PCM and send it back. If they do it so you don't have to run premium they won't be able to advance the timing as much, so you won't get as much power as you could.
A reprogram is not like a hand help hypertech/superchips nor is a chip you plug in like a Jet. If the actual PCM, so the only way to get it back to stock is to send it back to them.

It costs about $4.50 - $5 extra per tank to fill up.
If this is an issue to anyone they needn't think about modding anything.
At least that's how I saw it right before I turbo'd my 3.

Silver_dodge has had this mod done. Perhaps he'll weigh in and comment, or you can do a forum search on B&G flash or reflash.

The CPS mod is where you take the crank position sensor wich is located on your bellhousing, and you slot it so that you can slide it towards your oil filter. This will trick the truck into thinking your crank is in a differnt position thus changing the timing. The only thing I can't figure out is how to get the damn sensor out of the truck.

My understanding is thatgetting the crank sensor out is pretty much done blind, correct? Anybody know the exact size of the bolt head in mm?
