Removing the cat will make it louder, but not the kind of louder you want.
Drop the mufflers and straight pipe it. That will give you the sound you want.
Straight pipes won't **** with your pcm.
Hollowing out the cat might make you throw a code.

if you yank the cat you'll need an o2 sim for the rear o2 sensor... otherwise you'll throw a code for cat ineffeciency...

I'd dump the exhaust right after the cat if you want loud...

louder like that louder? or louder like humans can enjoy it louder?

imo a flowmaster super 44 dual in dual out (LT headers obviously) with dual cats and maybe a resonator in there, running out the rear, would make a beautiful sound.

I have not noticed if there is a silencer pipe on the truck before the muffler, but if there is, I would have that cut out and straight piped before I dumped the mufflers.
