99 5.2L 4x4 ~ A/C Stopped working!
Okay, no idea even where to start. My air stopped working. It blows but doesn't blow cold anymore. I used to could hear the air kick on but now, nothing when I switch the air on. Could this just be low freon? If so, what do I get and where do I put it?
Thanks for any help.

First thing to do is to go outside, start your truck with a/c off, pop the hood, and look at the a/c compressor clutch, it shouldn't spin. Then turn your a/c on max and look at the clutch again. If it is spinning then you might just need to recharge your system but if it's not spinning then you need to replace your compressor. But I'm going to go ahead and say that your compressor is bad just like mine is. I'm going to be replacing mine later this month and the only reason I'm waiting so long is because a new compressor costs in the area of $290.
OMG I hate this dodge!!!! I knew I should have bought a damn Chevy!
9-10 mpg, crappy brakes and now this...what a POS! It only has 72K miles on it...that is another reason I say this!

If its not spinning it doesnt automatically mean your compressor is bad. Your truck has a low pressure cut out built in. If the freon is too low it won't run to avoid damaging your compressor.
yes its r-134A, get a recharge kit, it has the directions. Theres two ports underneath your hood, one will be the high side (discharge) and theother will be your low side (suction). Its super easy to do.
Well I know for a fact that my compressor is bad because my freon charge is good. At first I swore it was low on freon but then I hooked a recharge kit up and my charge popped good so that ment the expensive fix.

A/C systems are terrible when they start to go. I just did the ram, recharge, compressor and accumulator. The wife's sunfire "just needed" a recharge so $300 later all is good until less than a month later, the compressor blows the front seal, so now it needs a compressor and another recharge. That ain't going to happen! Apperently it is common for the compressor to go after a recharge soit would have been cheaper overall to doeverything all at once rather than waste 300 bucks.
