Default Installing 14X3 open airfilter

Well with all the posts going on about this latley, curiosity has finally gotten the better of me. Not to mention I don't have anything else to do today, and it looks bad ***.

So I think I know everything I need, can one of you guys who's done this before double check the list for me?

-14X3 inch airfilter (I should be able to find this at an autoparts store correct?)
-about 20 inches of threaded 1/4 inch rod, and a wingnut (Hardware store can supply this)
- a 1 inch oil breather

Is there anything else I should grab while I'm out and about?

That's all you need. I got the Mr. Gasket airhat it's cheaper
Sometimes the rod comes with the filter.

God luck

what ive seen it to put a nut on the rod then cut it, then unscrew the nut and it fixes the threads that got messed up...

someone correct me if im wrong

That's what I did, and I used a hacksaw to cut mine.

that rod's size is 1/4-20 by any length over 12 inches. the 20 represents the amount of threads per inch, you probably already know to make the s-bolt.

Well here it is all done.

The "s" bolt isn't exacty straight lol, but it'll do. The cleaner itself moves, i can spin it in a circle, but I can't make it wiggle up or down or left or right at all. So is that okay? Runs good and everything.
