Firstly, what size are the stock injectors? Secondly, when is the appropriate time to up the size of injectors?

The only time it will do any good to up the injectors is if you can get more air in the cylinder than fuel to keep a proper air to fuel ratio.

runs like crap/fouling plugs

or you can get a aux. a/f ratio meter and moniter it... help tune/tweek

your CEL would prolly come on it... its what the 02's are for

Honestly the only way to tell is on the dyno.
The only bolt on without going into the engine that'll let in more air is a TB or intake.
And then you are going to need a fuel managment system that'll let you map a A/F ratio throughout the RPM range.

stock injectors are 19 lb/hr

from what i've seen they're good for quite a bit of power, even some of the 408 guys still run 19 lb injectors.

ok, with the limitations of the stock injectors being said...would it be good to go with a low #age injector withmultiple holes for better atomization?

some have noticed better mileage/response from switching to the 3 or 4 hole injectors of the same lb/hr rating over the 1-hole stockers...Ford Motor Sport injectors can be had pretty cheap on eBay, i picked up a set of 24 lb/hr FMS injectors with a rebuild kit (o-rings, spacers, filters, and pintle caps) for about $50 a couple weeks ago.

yea, i still have some buddies with lincolns that probably have a set lying arround, which is why im thinking of it. I believe they run 19# injectors factory as well, and they are dual holes.
