There are a bunch of little nicks on the bottom from the pallet they had it on, but serves it's purpose for me.
Happy hunting......[8D]
to me though...if your gonna run a cap full time, you should just get a suv or something...personally i think caps looks grandpa...BUT i cannot deny how useful they can be for a trip and ****, but for a fulltime use, looks grandpaaa lol
I agree, very grandpa. I hate using mine, but I can't deny how useful it is for hauling stuff up for camping. The rest of the time, the tonneau is a much better option in my opinion.

I also agree that if you buy a truck and want to run a cap most of the time than you should have bough a station wagon....uhh I mean an SUV. I am not a big fan of Tonnuea covers either unless they are low profile and you cannot see them above the rails.
Just a pet peeve about trucks......kinda like when you see a guy with a dog in the open bed of a truck...usually a quad cab and there is nobody else in the truck....that one pisses me off every time I see it.....
I like it pup826.
When I bought my cap I was living in the city. Without the cap, whatever I put in the bed would've been gone by morning.
Out of sight, out of mind.
Believe it or not, I've got a friend that got ripped off in the parking lot of a home improvement store.

Silver - do you have any pics of the stand? I'd like to build something like that since I don't always have a second pair of hands to mount/remove it.

As you can see, I just built a 2x4 frame on the bottom with wheels underneath. Using some cardboard, I made a template of the curve of the side of the topper, and transferred that to two peices of particle board to give the topper a nice surface to rest in that matches its own curves. I used leftover carpet on the edges of the particle board so the topper would be protected as it rested in the stand. Then I used more 2x4's and a couple 2x6's to build the frame that goes up the side (up what is normally the bottom edge of the topper). Once the topper is in the stand, it is just strapped tightly in place with a single tie-down strap (blue in the picture). Notice at the top of the stand are a couple of carpet pads. I wheel this out to my truck sitting on a flat surface, and tip it over so the carpet pads are resting against the side of the truck up near the top of the bed (passenger side). Then, I just unstrap the blue tie-down, and lift it up from the bottom, then push it up onto the bed from the side. That's the heaviest part to do, but I find it very managable by myself since it is supported on the other edge as you lift it up. Taking it off is even easier. I position the stand leaning against the side of the truck, then from the other side of the truck, I push the topper off the side until there is just enugh room for me to stand next to it in the bed. Then I grab the edge and tip it up, letting gravity help me slide it down into the stand. I strap it in with the blue tie down, tip it upright, and roll it back into the garage.
Hope that explains it clearly enough. I'll snap some pictures next time I have it out to actually install the topper.
Also, another option that I tossed around was building a pully system that would let me lift it up into the ceiling of my garage for storage. I have seen that used at a guys house, and it looked like it worked well for him. I decided to try this first, and it has worked well for me.
