I'd see what the gains on the M1 are over the modded keg and if it isn't that great, save the money for another mod.

You could alway weld an aluminum plate to the intake and you'd have a PERMANANT plenum fix.

I went with the modded kegger... but I'd recommend modding it yourself, its not hard

Well, for what its worth, I think i'm going to go with the modified kegger (modified by me, not Hughes).
I've read about 500 posts across five different Dodge forums over the last few days, talked to my trusted sources who know about Magnum engines, and it seems that the only guaranteed way to improve the low end, (and if modified correctly, produce some very similar results as the M1 on the top end) is to go with a modded kegger. Considering also that i'm about to take away the mechanical advantage I had of having 4.10's with 33's by switching to 35's, I want to do mods that keep my low end as strong as possible. And for the price, I think it is definetly worth a shot at least. If i don't like it, i'm sure a modded kegger would be easy to sell on these forums, and i'll look for an M1. So, i'll keep you all posted on how it goes. Think i'll start cutting my spare kegger this weekend, and hopefully get it installed soon.

I'll pass on the Hughes moddifed kegger. I've heard bad things about them. I'd rather do it myself so I know it's right.

M1 would be bad *** considering youyr current mods. But I know what you mean about $. I got the APS kit and Felpro gaskets and no problems yet.

Ya, i pretty seriously considered the 2 barrel M1. My experts tell me that a PCM flash helps to eliminate the low end loss that is commonly complained about with the M1. That's the same flash I pretty much already have, except for the RPM range and shift points I specified to go with my current kegger intake. But even with that, on a 5.2 the power curve would still be moved pretty high up with the M1. They said I could overcome that with gears, but that's another large chuck of change. Since I already have 4.10's, i'm thinking the loss most feel when going to 35's will not be as bad, and probably the loss experienced from the M1 might also not be as bad for me either. But I guess in the end, it all comes down to $$$.

M1, M1,M1!

For your perusal (if you haven't seen it):
http://www.hughesengines.com/general/5309.pdf

There is some condradictory info in there with respect to what they have said before, but I think most of that was written before the idea of pcm tuning caught on over there.

That's from Hughes. KRC's dyno's say the same thing.2bbl M1does not kill low end-4bbl M1does.I'm not sure what 35" tires are going to throw into the mix, but if you have the flash I think you'll be fine. For the 10-15% of the time you want to "get on it"- shift manually.

The Hughes dual plane Air Gap dyno'd the same as the M1. No difference.

I think the whole torque thing was an internet thing. Someone put a M1 4bbl on thier truck and wrote about how the M1 killed thier low end torque and then,as it traveled through threads and then forums, it became reallity for all M1's- all trucks-all setups.
