Default What is the laatest recommendation for trans fluid in the 2nd gen?

Since these things change and opinions vary I wanted to ask for more recent info. Anyone have a fluid they think is the new thing? OR the old reliable stuff that you rather stand by?

Thanks
Harold

Any brand of +4 should be fine.
I personally prefer +3 that my truck came with.
+4 is a technically superior fluid but I find it makes older trucks shift kinda mushy

This website lists the benefits of ATF+4, as well as an interesting tidbit on color and smell.
http://www.apsprecision.com/tipstricks.html

It says:

Transmission Fluid
All 93 Up - Chrysler products other then Minivans that were factory filled with ATF+2 or ATF+3 should now be updated to the Semi Synthetic ATF+4. The new ATF+4 offers many benefits as seen below

Benefits Include:
[ul][*]
Better anti-wear properties
[*]
Improved rust/corrosion prevention
[*]
Controls oxidation
[*]
Eliminates deposits
[*]
Controls friction
[*]
Retains anti-foaming properties
[*]
Superior properties for low temperature operation
[/ul] Fluid Color
Mopar ATF+4 is a World Class Fluid having exceptional durability. However, the red dye used in ATF+4 is not permanent; as the fluid ages it may become darker or appear brown in color. The ATF+4 also has a unique odor that may change with age. With ATF+4 fluid, color and odor are no longer indicators of fluid condition and do not support a fluid change. Use 45K miles or 3 Years as your guide also replace filter and have bands adjusted at service intervals.

Mopar ATF +4 is available at Wally World $4.84 a quart last time I checked. A typical drain, filter replacementneeds between 5-6 quarts. The whole system holds about 15 quarts.
