I think you will definately notice a difference in gas mileage.I can get 550 miles on a tank of gas now and I could never hit that before I installed mine.I noticed a performance difference as well.

wrap your fuel rails with insulating tape & get a 52mm TB for it... you will noticea difference in performance for sure.

^^^ Steve,

What does insulating the fuel rails do? Your speaking of the rails on top of the intake, correct?

yes... prevents them from getting heat soaked. hot fuel robs power... add a fuel cooler on top of that and you will have a nice bump in power (low/mid) that will get you a 6% bump in mpg on the hiway. Ask Shot8283 how he likes his (he bought mine when I sold my truck).

Okay so another question,

Can you wrap the interconnecting rubber hose between the rails with the insulating tape,or will the sticky on the tape break down the rubber? Are we talking about the foil tape here, or something else? Sounds like a fairly cheap mod for a little gain.

dont need to do that one, it's already got rubber on it so it's insulated. the tape is cheep, the cooler on the otherhand is an expensive mode... $40 bux for the cooler, approx $70~80 bux for fuel injection line long enough to go to the front of the truck & back to the intake and the earl connectors for the cooler...

I did this mod on my 2 bmw's as well.. 1 325 & 1 m3. worked awesome on those since they were lighter and you could feel the difference easily. on the ram, you hardly feel anything cause they are so damn heavy. btw, my CTD will be getting this mod eventually as well

glad to help... just be aware that if you put a fuel cooler up front, you now have a flamable substance up there which can cause problems if your in a head on or rear end someone.
