Finally recieved my hypertech power programer 3 today for a 2001 dodge ram 360 with the off road package, went to to install after work and noticed it didn't ask me some of the options it should have. For instance it asked me if i wanted to change the rev limiter, bumped it up to +400 but it never asked me adjust shift points and or shift firmness. I did however put it on 93 octane with 87 in the tank and didn't have a problem.....Took it for a spin noticed it did rev higher and didn't shift as much but other than that nothing.....i mainly bought this for fuel milage so we shall see how that goes on monday when i make the journey back to school......any ideas whats up with everything else???

You may find that the 93 octane setting won't work forever on 87 octane gas.
flashing the PCM is like resetting it and the mixture tends to be rich. as the PCM adapts the fuel leans out and it may start to have problems. OR maybe it'll be ok, sometimes it depends on the quality of gas whether or not it'll work. Either way I'd drive with your programmer for a while just incase you noticea pinging problem, that way you can always reset it to 87.

Your transmission isn't an electronic shift engine so the programmer can't do anything to adjust it.

However, 3rd on up are elctronically controlled. Hypertech just does not do anything for those points on the 2001 though.
