Default Are these differential covers any good?

I finally found a company that sells differential covers for the 9.25? Anyone know if these are any good or have any experience with them?

I think I'm gonna at least grab the one for the 9.25 since you can't seem to get them anywhere. Dana 44 covers are a dime a dozen though. If it seems tough enough I'll get the matching set though.

Why not just paint the stock one that is on there now, i painted mine with silver brake paint almost a year ago and all the paint is still on there, and it looks like an aftermarket one. Why buy an aftermarket one if it does not gain you anything, unless it's a strong one for 4wheeling, but that's just me. The ones that you are looking at are also chrome, i would imagine that they would rust and oxidize if you live in an area that it snows and they salt, especially being under the truck.

they seem kinda thin to me... .090" stamped steel.

i dunno, i'm not really into chrome, my diff covers are painted the same as the body color, with all the bolts and the front check/fill plug painted silver.looks almost too good down there, with old faded paint-chipped suspension parts all around them [&o]

Cereal, I don't know about those but I'm only interested in more protection and Magnums just aren't big enough anymore. Check out these two.

The 9.25 cover pictured is also avalible from Daytona products and couple of others. I believe the Mr Gasket cover is the same design. Its as tough as the OEM and about as thick. It is an import, and plating quality can vary slightly from piece to piece. Thin plating tends to pit quickly and then you get those littlered spots...so you need to keep it cleaned and waxed.

Dana 44 covers vary in thickness and there are a bunch of cheapthin ones out there that won't take a punch. The Spectre and Daytona ones are the thinnest. I believe JC Whitney sells the same one.
The best one I have seen and used is the one from Mopar performance. It is plated from an OEM thickness shell and that's a stout piece to begin with. But it's about fifty bucks retail...well it may be more now...
