Default front axle question **UPDATE WITH PICS**

does the front axle take the same mopar synthetic 75w-90 as the rear end? and should my current fluid be a milky white color? and same rule for filling applies to the front? fill from the front plug till it drains out of the hole?..... need answers fast... truck on lift waiting ... also how can i tell if i have a limited slip front end? if i turn the front right the left dosnt move unlike the rear end if i turn one forward the other spins the opposite....

I dont think that dodge offered a LSD in the front, I think you cant have them becasue it wouldent allow the truck to be streetable in 4x4.
Yes, use the hold to fill and wait till the fluid comes out.

Whiteish milky fluid usually means there was water in there, and that is really bad... your lucky you caught it before you killed a bearing or your gears. drain that old stuff out!!!!

As far as the type of fluid im not sure... Ive always used what ever I have laying around.

Edit: Your front end wont turn the other wheel the oposite way like the rear becasue your truck isnt in 4wd... and your axles are not connected, put the truck in 4wd then try it.

A multi-purpose, hypoid gear lubricant which conforms to the following specifications should be used. Mopar Hypoid Gear Lubricant conforms to these specificationsFRONT AXLE [ul][*]The lubricant should have MIL-L-2105C and API GL 5 quality specifications.[*]Lubricant is a thermally stable SAE 80W90[/ul]from chrysler^

open front diff

white fluid-bad

Mopar Syn. 75w-90 will be perfect - i havent seen mopar 80w90 in forever

Just RTV.
Chrysler reccomends the GreyRTV as some brands of lube can attack the Black stuff and cause it to leak.
