what is the biggest tire i can go with on stock dodge rims.
it is a 1500 2wd. im getting ready to put a 3" body lift on it and im wondering the biggest i can fit that will look nice. thanks for your input.
oh yea, mines a 2500. i have new wheels and tires coming on thursday though. i got some Axis 17x10. not sure what the back spacing is but they stick out more then my stockers for sure when i test fitted them. im wrapping them in MT baja mtz 315 70 17's
now is your truck 4wd or 2wd and what kind of lift do you have. do you think 315/75/16 will fit a stock 1500 2wd with just 3" body lift or should i stay with 285/75/16's?
yea i have a 4x4. i dont know if 315's will fit with a body lift on a 1500. mine doesnt rub on the body anyway so i am going to guess no. unless you get some wheels with more backspacing to kick them out away from truck. other wise you probably want to do some suspension lifting....

true. but i dont really want to lift a 2wd truck that high. i know it would look nice and all but its still only 2wd no matter how big it is. my dodge is an extended cab long bed so its big already. plus i have air shocks in the back that raise it and lower it about 3in. total travel. its a matter of how much air i run in them. i was looking at some crager rims but i dont know the lug pattern and a good backspacing for them to stick out some. the reason im trying to stay with stock rims too is because they are nice crome dodge rims. thanks for the input

I have a 1500 4x4 with the stock rims. I was able to fit 285 with no lift and stock rims. They do not rub anywhere. The only bad thing about the 285s it the center of the tire wears a little faster then the outside because the rim is a little smaller then the tire. It bows out the middle.
