Default EGR Solenoid CEL

My truck is throwin a code 32, EGR Solenoid circuit. Where should i begin?

You could measure the resistance of the EGR solenoid. I'm not sure what the spec is but I don't think it should be open circuit or very high Ohms (mega or kilo) You could also trace the egr wires to the PCM and make sure you have good continuity and no shorts.

Most likely it's a bad Egr solenoid. It's a fairly common failed part. Plugged converter can cause it to fail too.

yeah just had the cat replaced so i need to replace that solenoid. where is it located?

get a vacuum pump and see if the egr valve will move ok under vacuum, then check the vacuum line for leaks. then you can test the solenoid by applying a voltage to it and see if it is actuating like it should. I would say if the valve is working ok & the vac lines are good, you might want to swap out the solenoid. oh and also check the wiring 1st to ensure you dont have an open...

well i just got off the phone with the stealerships parts department. 112 dollars for that solenoid. hahahahahahahahaha thatsa FUNNY joke. o reilly has it for 2.34. advance doesnt carry this part for some reason....

do the checks I mentioned 1st... you may just have a stuck egr valve.

From the dealer the solenoid comes with a new egr valve i believe.

Where is the EGR solenoid located? The power distrubition box?

It should be attached to theEGR valve. Left rear of engine.
