how would you setup your intake? you could fab up something similar to a ram air setup off an old muscle car. your other option would be to go with the round K&N filter and add the flow thru top so you have a direct flow to the TB & air filter.

yea im gonna get the round air filter with a k+n but my real purpose is to get colder air in the engine bay and in the engine

then you'd want that Xtreme top (I think that's what K&N calls it...) go check it out on their website.

i have seen it but am worried that if water or snow ever got passed the hood gastkets that it would just go right into the TB and i really dont want to have problems

wow... lol...no offence but lets just say that this is a work truck(bumper to the ground, bedfull of whatever)/ drive around, not really a race truck, but if or when i get the car of my dreams thats first on my to do list...

I've seen those on some rams and they looked awesome. you could just get the basic setup and feed cold air to the air filter.
