No, I think he's just not looking at throwing $20 in diff oil out the window if there is an easier way.

Yeah, I can understand that too.
I'd get the build sheet if I was you Indy. That's a unique truck anyways, it'd be worthwhile. Doesn't cost anything.

Now, heres something bouncer and I were discussing the other day....do our trucks have a torsin diff?

I seriously dought you have a Torsen diff. system. I have only seen these on Audi's. I have heard the hummer H1 has it too. But we havesimple american enginering in our trucks. I still say you have an open diff.My cousin runs at the track with his camaro and he has an open diff. and when he does his burnoutshe canmakeboth tires spin. Its not that hard to do on a open diff. or justpull the cover off. And plus it wouldnt hurt to change the fuild. I forget but I think your suposto do it every few years anyways. I paid $5 for the gasket glue and $9 for the diff. fuild. so $15 is not to bad. Its just like changing the engine oil. It has to be done sometime.

It didn't cost me much to change the flud, although I don't know how necessary it really is. Most people never change there's for the whole life of the vehicle, but with a truck... if you do a good bit of towing and what not they recommend every 30,000 miles I believe.

Drain the fluid into a clean pan and reuse it.
I had an axle seal puke on mine a week after I replaced the rear axle fluid with synthetic. So reuse it!
Total cost under $5 for some *good* silicone
