Iam putting in the new boost cover TSB part onto my transmission valve body. I have already put it in but dont know how the accumulator piston goes back in. There is the piston and a spring. Is there supposed to be two springs? Know where I can get the diagram? I need help please! The tranny is a RE46
Ok, so I did the job yesterday and it went really when except that I couldn't figure out how the accumulator piston went back into the bore with the spring. I looked in the manual and all the transmissions, 44-47 have two springs shown. Mine only had one. Did I lose it, or has someone done the same job and have the single spring. I only ask this because the trucks been shifting harsh at times. From 1-2, or 2-3. I checked the fluid several times, and I will check the throttle cable right now. Any help on the accumulator piston or other ideas?
If you are in Alaska and the weather is colded, cold temps may give you harsh shift or no 3rd or 4th gears until the oil goes up. And if you only have one spring. most 5.9 engines only have one spring.
I just did my valve body today.........mine had two springs, but they were wrapped together with each other so I didnt know there was two springs until I really looked at it
