"UPDATE" CAT GUTTED....WOW
Man I know, I really want to show you guys a video, but it's like, I don't even know where I can go where I am not going to get pulled aside from some damn cop, or have someone call the cops on me lol! I mean I know places where it's quiet, but there so far away, and I don't want to burn all that fuel just to shoot a video lol! I'll try and get time tonight to do it though if my brother is willing to come with me and shoot it.

you know i totally like a good sounding rig but i have one question for ya? why gut the cat. You do realize that gutting the cat is a federal crime in that whenver you take it in to a reputable shop and they find out that you gutted the cat you can face a stiff fine. Now I am not saying that a you are a bad person or that you do not have a awesome sounding rig but why go through the hassle of guttin a federally required piece of equipment just to increase the sound of your rig. I mean it just sounds a little wierd is all because well maybe i am getting older but man there are alot of idiots who have gone total straight pipe on there cars and trucks and well rev there engines up in my apartment complex and or race down my street at odd hours of the night and wake up my kids. It jsut is annoying and well man I am telling ya that fine is out there and it is not pretty. plus depending on thestate you live in they will check yearly and if you ever move to a state that require smog checks you will have to go and spend money to fix it. I am just throwing my two cents and hey a cool sounding rig is a cool sounding rig.

I completely understand what you are saying, in fact it has crossed my mind many times. I couldn't help it though, I'm 18 years old, and it's like as soon as I want something done, I just do it, and don't really think of the ocnsequences. I guess I really wasn't concerned because I know so many mechanics around town and are very close with them because my brother and I are CONSTANTLY dropping our vehicles with these peoples weekly, I mean we drop our vehicles off to get stuff done to them at least 1-2 times a week, it's that insane. So state inspections, and getting into trouble wasn't really my concern. The guy who gutted the cat for me, will do my state inpection as well (even though I'm sure he'd lose his license if anyone found out he was doing that). I know in the long run it was probably stupid, and is stupid. But I guess it's like my anti-drug, this whole truck thing. I don't go to partys and get wasted and drunk with the other kids, it's never been my thing. I've always thought that was just so stupid and pointless. But I am not perfect by any means lol, while they are getting trashed and spreading STD's, I'm dropping my truck I love so much to get even more decked out lol. So I don't know, I'm just riding the wave right now, but I am sure as I get older, this will less appeal to me, especially once I have a family, and vehicles won't be my ONLY real distraction.
alot of inspections dont care if its gutted or not as long as its there , now if it happens to throw a CEL then something has to be done (no brainer) same as having a lifted truck the law says so much from ground to bumper but we all go past it or right on the line ..the only problem i have is you took a good highflow cat and gutted it...lol (kids)
I myself dont really like the straight pipe sound with no cat.
Its lound obnoxious and sounds like some old junker that the muffler has fallen off of.
To me the sound of all stock exhaust with performance mufflers is sweet.
Plus when your driving down the highway you don't get that head splitting noise.
Just my opinion, Plus I read somewhere in this forum that not having enough backpressure on the exhaust can rob a little performance ?? Anyone know if that is true or not ?
