Default "UPDATE" CAT GUTTED....WOW

Well I know I've gotten a lot of question as to why I would want to have a catalytic converter gutted that I just paid $85 for, but I couldn't help it. I need that extra badass hollow noise. This 44 system I have right now is already very "bubbly and gurgally" but I want to be even more hollow bubbly haha! It's at the shop right now getting done. He said he will try to get it done today, but if not today, definately tomorrow. I can't wait, should sound even louder and more badass, which you just got to love! I'll post soundclips up ****in ASAP when I get it back for you guys!

UPDATE!!

Got the truck back today with the cat gutted...and all I can say is MY GOD. I just love my exhaust system 5x more! Having the cat gutted gave my exhaust and even more deeper more gurgally idle, and when she takes off....JESUS CHRIST! It's snapping here and popping there, and it just sounds incredible, i dont know anyone with a sound like this. It's pretty much just a super 44 muffler now taking on a 360's exhaust, its incredible! I cannot wait to get some long tube headers with the 3" y-pipe along with a cold air intake kit, it is just going to be even more insane. It is **** like this why I got rid of the damn stupid neon and rolled with the big boys....owwweee!

I can hardly wait for your sound clip...I also will be going with the long tubes and 3" y-pipe, but I will not be running any converter, and will be using a Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler instead of the FM Super44, not that I have anything against FM. I have the super 40's on my '79 jeep CJ-5 with a chevy 350 and they sound good, but I am ready for something a little different. I expect to have this done in the next month or so and I will be posting sound clips as well.

Yeah that cherry bomb extreme will sound wild. I was going to run catless, but I like having the illusion of a cat, so that's why I just opted to have one gutted, that way if I ever were to get pulled over (which I know at some point will be instore for me lol) that at least they wouldn't know I did anything illegal persay. But yeah man, those pacesetter longtubes w/ the 3" y-pipe just is the ultimate combo, can't wait!

Is the super 44 much louder than the origional 40's?

I get bitched at all the time becasue my truck is so loud, I cant imagine it much louder...

I don't know, flowmaster markets it as being just as loud but more bassey, butt honestly, i've heard the 40 series, and this 44 seems to really knock it right out of the park. I think they market it as being just as loud so people wouldnt be down their throats with complaints and crap. This truck is just gotten so much crazier with the addition of the gutted cat, its just my dream. This thing is practically stock besides the exhaust too and its so loud. I dont know what it will be like with long tube headers, 3" y-pipe and an intake system, it will easily be louder than a cobra mustang...its just so fun doing this though. I remember the days being stuck with my neon and never being satisfied, i always wanted that v8 muscle sound. now suddenly 3 months later, i own this giant lifted dodge ram that just tears *** and sounds so god damn hollow and BADASS. Def. will post vids up bros!

Ya, Ive herd other 40's too... I think that mine really might not be a flowmaster 40... It came in a flowmaster box, but I bought my entire system off a exhasut shop... but ive herd that all flowmaster mufflers have flowmaster stamped into them, and mine doesnt... I instaled my entire exhaust and I know that nowhere does it say flowmaster, or 40 series...
All I know is that it is the best sounding truck I have heard...

I think that I have the best sounding vehicle in my neighborhood... maybe even city... only being "outsounded" by my frineds dads 1971 dodge challenger pacecar with a HO360 making over 500hp... sounds BADASS.
