NEED HELP!!! GEARS 4.10 or 4.56
i have an 01 1500 with the 5.2, six inch lift, and 35 inch bfg mud terrains and i need some help deciding on which gears to pick. The whole problem and why im doing the swap is i have no power at seventy and my speed just bleads off as soon as the overdrive kicks in and my shift times are all off due to the bigger tires causeing me to use WAY more fuel than i should! i have been told two different gear ratios and i dont know which would be better for my application 4.10 or 4.56. What are there differences and what are thereadvantages and disadvantages of both?PLEASE HELP!!

Yep, another vote for 4.56's. It'll be close to the stock power band. See this chart:

I currently have a stock truck as far as tires go with a 4.10 gearupgradeand I can tell you, this is the way the truck should have come! If you're running 35" you need to go 4.56 at least. You might want to think about 4.88's.Seriously give it some thought. 4.56's will put you back to close to stock, but stock already sucks, go smaller!

Can't get 4.88's in the 9.25 rear end. 4.56's is as low as it goes. One of two major downfalls of the axle. That and the c-clip shafts.

I'd say 4.88 if you want mostly low end torque, or else 4.56 for all purpose driving.
