Default cross drilled and slotted rotors

Tomorrow is the big day! I install the slotted and drilled rotors, hopfully it will be worth the money. The work great on the 'stang. This summer was pretty hard on thebrakes: warped rotors and worn down pads. Shame I still have the stockrims becausethe rotorsare really hard to see.

Hey steve05, where'd ya get those powerstops? I'm in dire need of new brakes, and I agree that the stockers suck.

that is an awesome price... IIRC last time I checked summit for the powerstops, they were $70 ea, toss in the pads and $11 bux for shipping and your good to go.

Irun power stop on my 'stang: never warped them or had any problems. The ones for the ram are from an e-bay dealer:
brake labs. The rotors are crossed drilled and slotted while the power stops were only crossed drilled. It worked out to just under 200 with rotor and pads. I chickened outanddropped the truck off at a shop. It is pooring rain out and removing the rotors looks like a nightmare job. It looks like original rotors and I really doubt it will come off the hub nice.

that sucks... the swap is easy, less than an hour for both sides.

I just finished changing out my rotors for SP Performance slotted, along with SP Perf. Severe duty pads and rebuilt calipers . I was concerned about the cross-drilled potentially warping under heavy braking. I've got a 2500 CTD used to haul a 5th wheel.I've replaced rotors 4 or 5 times (lost count) in 115k miles, each time the right outside pad wore down to the metal and ruined the rotors.
Hopefully the new calipers won't stick and ruin this setup.

I think (and hope) that the cross drilled are less likely to warp because they can disapate heat faster than standard rotors. I too haul a heavy 5th and that is partially the reason behind the worn out front brakes. I'll give it a shot.
