'02 - '05 Factory 20's on '96???
Hi, folks:
To those that are running the '02 - '05 factory 20" rims on a 2WD '94 - '00 Ram: WHAT was required, in order for the rims to fit onto your Ram? I have the opportunity to purchase a set of the above wheels back, and I now am right back to this dilemma. Upon mounting them directly onto my '96, as-is: The diameter of the rotors' hubs prevent the rim from seating properly, and even when accounting for the gap with wheel spacers: There are hardly ANY exposed wheel stud threads left, for the lug nuts to grab. We came to a couple of simple conclusions: 1) Mill the rotors' outer hub to a smaller OD. 2) Grind the lip out of the rear-inside edge of the wheels.
Any ideas?????

some wheel spacers have new studs on them so you can use the new studs on the wheel spacer... or mayber getting longer studs.. what exactly is the problem the center of the rim going over the hub is too small?
Theres a pic of an indy with them in england, imo they dont look very nice...ill grab it in a min.

On the other hand: The link that "IndyRamMan" has posted shows the exact setup that I am going for. Based on the close-up shot of the front of the truck: He isdefinitely running spacers on the front rotors. Maybe I have no choice but to do the same????
its possible, though the rim width of the 20s is the same as factory 17s i think.

Well... A co-worker pointed me towards an older thread, on DodgeTalk.com, that I took some advice from. Long story, short: I ordered a set of factory '02 lug nuts, and I am going to be running ¼" wheel spacers. I have heard plenty of horror stories about wheel spacers, but: The truck that the wheels were on was running them in a double-stacked manner, with no issues. We'll see what happens!
A set of factory '03/'04 wheels are officially in my garage; still waiting on the lug nuts.
Out of curiosity, to those that are running the factory wheels on an original ('02 (?) + ) setup: How far do your front wheel studs emerge past the front tips/edges of the lug nut holes???

I'm screwed....
I came to a scary realization, last night, while researching the above: I ordered the WRONG flippin' lug nuts!!! [:@]The trucks that originally ran these rims use a 9/16-18 lug nut; mine's ½-20! Alongside that fact: My wheel studs are considerably shorter, as I stated above. NOW what?!?! I may just have to run longer wheel studs, and PRAY that ½-20 lug nuts will seat properly.
Any thoughts, folks???
