With 5 hrs of work to put it in, if you don't like it, you will learn to love it!!!!!

Actually, I think I'd leave it black. Might look OK!
I left my Geno's cover black and I do like the looks of the contrast between my grey interior and the black dash. In any method, painting or not, it beats looking at the cracks and hole..[:'(]

I don't remember exactly waht I paid but it was under $200. I want to say around $150. I got 25% off since the shop I worked for got a discount from the Dodge dealer but our dealer is high anyway. Are you sure you got quoted for just the top half? I'd call another dealer.

It is a pita to put in. Took me and the mechanic from work 3 hours with both of us working on it.

I had the coverlay one on my 01 and it looked good. I had a black interior though.

I am in the market to either put a cover on or replace the upprer dash. just bought the truck and not sure which direction to go.

The best I can tell the one from Geno's is better than the Cover-Lay or are they the same thing?

Anyone got a lead on a factory replacement for a 99 in "Saddle"? I have not checked at local dealer yet but I would imagine it is a lot more than $150.00...

You can get the coverlay close. I love mine, It isn't perfect but no one notices it, I used to have people in my truck and they would always say "this would be a nice truck if you fixed the dash", no one says that any more. It took ten minutes to put in. It has held this whole time, the fit isn't perfect around the airbag, but it is waaaaay better than my old cracked dash with a huge hole in it.

Wow, just got off phone with dealer an they informed me the part is on back order and could take a couple months to get. They also informed me it was $372.00!!!!!

It looks like the dash cover is the way to go...

I have been doing lots of reading around here and I see a lot of people are very unhappy with the Coverlay? What would be other options? It looks better than carpet for sure....lol

I'd call around to some more dealers. My local dealer is usually on the expensive side of things and when I got mine I paid under $200. I was thinking around $150 or 175 but it was under $200 anyway. I was suprised. Now I got 25% off through work but even if it was right at $200 which I don't think it was this would only be $250. Maybe the 99 dash and 01 are a lot different I don't know. You are asking for the top piece right? Thats all you need if it's just cracking on the top. You don't have to buy the whole dash unless it's cracking in other places other than the top where it normally cracks.

I don't understand why people like the covers. They to me don't look as good and I've heard of people not liking them after a while. I think the original dash is cheap enough it's just better to just go ahead and replace it. The only problem is that it's a pita to change.
