Coverlay dash cover
Does anyone have an "installed"pic of the Coverlay dash cover for our second gen Rams? My dash finally started cracking and I think if I wait too long to do something about it things will get much worse very quickly. (Dealer wants $476.00 just for the OEM dash...NOT gonna happen!) Can you tell that it's a cover or does it fit pretty good?
$476.00?????? That must include install. The part should be in the $120-140 range.
IMHO I wouldn't use the Coverlay. Saw some badcomments on the forumon the color not matching and the glue not holding as well as needed.
Replacing withfactory is a timely job if you get the part and DIY (took me 'bout 5 hrs and I'm only shade tree qualified), but I think well worth the effort.
I had to replace mine as there was not enough old dash cover left to put anything on!!!!
Hope my $.02 helps.

Yes The coverlay SUCKS. I had to paint it to match and after two weeks the glue didnt hold at all. Also the damn thing didnt fit very well at all. On a positive note though, it still looks better than that horrible carpet cover.
Yea, not real impressed with the coverlay dashI got either. The color is way off. I too will be painting mine before installing it (just take your fuse panel off and take it to your local paint store and have them match it for you).I have heard that genos, has better matching paint available too.
The fit is okay, but nothing to post up a "great mod" about.

Nope, I was quoted $476.00 for the PART. He didn't even blink when I started choking, then laughing. I see on the Geno's site that he hascovers priced at $55.00 and $130.00. I assume I need the one that costs $130.00?

That's insane at $476. I will admit I got mine with a "commercial" discount.I kinda havea business name and told the local dealer I have an account with another dealer out of town and they did honored the discount. May want to try something like that.
You could get with another dealer in the area or go with Geno's. Make sure it's the top dashtopand not the dash trim piece - so yes, the $130 piece at Geno's site. Looks like from Geno's, you have to paint it if you don't have black interior though. If not, I'd go for factory part in the plastic color to match your interior. Maybe someone can let us both know how well painted plastic holds up.
Good luck Kurt!
