rear drum brake *CHEAP UPGRADE*
ok i understand the whole rear wheel set up, but can anyone tell me more about the front caliper set up, i will be running a set of stock 16's for all terrains and the nice set of 16's for the weekend offroading, so will the bigger calipers in the front work for me? and what do i have to get them off of?
I've been running this wheel cylinder upgrade since last fall, and I must say it is one of the best modifications I have made to my truck. It took a while for the self adjustors to kick everything into place, but now, when I'm out driving, the rears lock up *RIGHT NOW* in panic situations. I can made the rear wheels screech with ease if needed. I recommend this swap to everyone on this board.
This mod makes the rear brakes so powerful, you can, indeed, lock the rears faster than the RWAL can react. I use it to make stupid little kids, that think it's ok to pull out in front of a ROLLING 3-ton truck, mess their pants. BFG AT's really HOWL when jumped on.
Holy triple post !!
What bigger calipers? Did someone say something about bigger calipers?

Been there done that , next put 1 ton brake calipers up front then you get even better stopping... trick is to stay with the same year as what you drive.. i have a 1 ton wheel cylinders from a chevy just a tad bigger then what is called for on a dodge (im talking at 1mm)
I'll have to try this. My only concern though, is if I beef up the cylinder, does anything else in the brake system become the weakest link? Has anyone had negative affects from this mod? It seems like a pretty cool mod!!!
