Well i'd use the fork for the joints, which I am replacing. The rubber boot that's suppose to be there is gone.

What was the bang sound from? something fell? lol
Pickly fork won't work on the ball joints. You have to use a ball joint press. O'Reilly and Autozone rent them.

The pickle fork should be used to separate the joint from the knuckle. Otherwise to get them in and out I have to rent that kit.

Must be some good princesses there. lol. speaking of that, spent a day at disney yesterday. I am princessed out.

Well I am going to order two tie rod ends, though I think mine are fine, I just may as well get the same miles on new tie rod ends as the balljoints.

I gotta keep it on the low end though, so Spicer well probably be what I get again.

Keep in mind I do intend to replace everything with Moog when the funds allow it in the next 6-8 months.

Geez, if you have money to flush down the toilet then send some my way. According to my neighbor, who is a retired mechanic, Spicer is a good replacement that will last. IMHO, replace them with what you can afford and then in 6-8 months use whatever funds you have on something else. I wouldn't worry about the balljoints until they are due to be replaced.

Well I'm hoping they last longer, but some on here seem to think they will not. If i get 8 months out of them, i'll be happy. Longer will be even better. I do have some shock questions, but I searched for some threads but didnt like what I saw. I'm looking for more of a DIY with pics on shock installation on a 2wd. Doesn't look hard at all on a 96, almost too easy. Then again after these bjoints, just about anything that is simply bolted in seems easy.

I'll try to be heading to an autozone tomorrow to do the loan-a-tool for the bjoint press and remover, and a tie rod seperator.

Also, Tire Kingdom reccommended the pitman and idler arms, along with tie rod ends. I played around with them for about 5 mins, and nothing moves awkwardly. I dont see how one of those two arms could be bad as it is a piece of steel. the tie rod ends dont look worn at all, and they dont have any play in them.

The Spicer stuff should last for a couple of years. I don't remember how many miles you said you had, but it would be a good idea to replace the Pitman Arm and Idler Arm. The Idler you can do with a tie-rod puller, but I would recommend the Pitman be done at a local tire shop unless you have a means of torquing the nut down to the 200+ ft-lbs.

After the joints are done, i'm taking it to get an alignment. Wherever I decide to get the alignment done, maybe i'll get the arm's done there. It looks like I should order all spicer stuff and just have them install it at the shop.

I have just over 118,000 miles.

Also, should I order 1) inner and 1) outer? or are they both outer? or do i need two of each? not sure why I would, but just asking.
