Love, no hate whatsoever. I get a little annoyed on long trips because its a really stiff ride and the bumps get to ya after about 2 and a half hours, and the gas could be better....but oh ****ing well. Its the loudest bluest thing I know.

Seriously,

Try keeping your foot out of it. I swapped gears to 4.10 from 3.55 and should have been getting lousy mileage due to the swap and the 265x70x16's I'm running. But taking it super easy on the pedal to keep it under 2200 RPM's to break in the gears netted an extra week on the full tankI hadbefore I got the swap done. Stop trying to keep up with the 'stangs at the stoplight and you'll stopcomplaining about gas.

keeping up with the stangs? Most of them try keeping up with me. They arent all that fast arround here. I want to get 4.10 gears not only for racing, but since I do mostly city driving anymore, it will help the truck to get goin from a stop, which'll help mileage a bit. For the most part I do keep my foot out of it. Theres really no need to go over 2500 for me.

Indy, I wasn't responding to you, sorryfor the fast reply, it was aimed at the original poster. When you're at a light and you're MPG drops to 2 MPG cause you feel like you gotta get to 45 ASAP, you're mileage will suffer. I can't figure out why people gripe about mileage when they drive a 3 ton vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick. BTW,I've seen you vids,I know you can't keep your foot out of it. [sm=gears.gif]

aim4squirrels, i tried it.. keeping it under 2000k.. it worked kinda but i was watching the rpm the whole time! lol i keep it between 2200-2600 right now is how i normally drive. the 2000k did help a lil but the amount it helped wasnt that great so i figured id rather drive normal which wasnt so fast anyway.

my problem mainly is a good tune up lol. which i have not done yet. i need to replace the cat. also so that *might* help lol im not complaining i love the truck ...maybe i shouldnt say i hate the gas it eats but i do hate when gas price is over $3.## a gallon.. ahh i remember when it was $.99 a gallon....

Man, if you've got a known bad cat, that'll suck the mileage down something fierce. Tune up won't hurt either, but won't do much good without the cat getting fixed.

I love my truck. Some times I can hate the silly shi* that goes wrong(cracking dash for instance). As for MPG I knew what I was getting into when I bought her. Full size truck, 360 V-8, 4x4, and inability to stay out of the throttle. Do the math. But, to here that sound when I start it up, step back and look, or get a nice compliment, it makes every thing OK!

I remember $.76 a gallon and I'm not old.

Love my Ram even better after each mod. What I do hate is not being able to drive it.
