I'm just glad I've had a little exta money so I can try to fix the neglect.
You guys actually charge labor at school? Ours didn't and we worked on tons of "customer" vehicles. Alignments are stupid easy though, especially since you only have to do the front, and since camber is factory set the only things to adjust are caster and toe!
lol yeah no **** huh?! im sure theyll do fine though. im not a crazy offroad guy, so i need a tire that is better than average but is meant for the road mostly
the bands are what give the tranny a tighter shift i think but im not sure... but you should always adjust the bands every trans. fluid change. They are adjusted by a bolt and nut just loosen and tighten, how much depends on your tranny model.
As the bands wear in the trannys, they get more sloppy... right... and you need to adjust them so they grab right... I dont know how else to say it...
When they are adjusted right u usually will get firmer shifts and what not... I think these trannys are supposed to have them adjusted every 30,000 miles... Most people never adjust them... Alot of ford trannys mostly the newer ones dont have adjustable bands... I know for a fact the e40d'd dont, and im fairly sure their new ones dont either... (another reason fords are ****...) If you leave a worn tranny band in there and use it, it will wear its self out faster. and on these trannys its kinda common for when they get loose that one of the band struts will fall off or somthing...
I dont remmebr exactly how many miles urs has, but i think u said its around 110,000 and ill tell you if its never had it done... it needs it... Mine has 90k and it has never been done and I know mine could use it also...
Im doing mine soon... actually I might do them tomaorw depending on the weather... its not hard.
