A good cheap mod is the round air filter mod, just go to a parts store and get a 14x3 round open element air filter, they usually come with the chrome housing, you will have to make an S bolt if you dont already have one.
nice truck. best bang for the buck is prolly exhaust. if you want to keep it cheep just get some flowmaster 40series mufflers and replace your stock mufflers with them and replace the stock resonators with pipe.

nice truck. you are a lucky person. appreciate your parents...
just my opinion - but i'd recommend step bars, window vent/shades, cd/mp3 player, speakers, small to medium amp, toolbox, bedliner, clean/buff the headlights, maybe change bulbs to the newer, brighter silverstar type halogens. none of this makes it go faster or louder but they are the creature comforts that you'll enjoy. they also increase the value of your truck. again my opinion but i think replacing perfectly good air filters and exhausts with equivalent but brightly painted new and expensive parts is just a waste of money. (i probably sound like your dad
) again my opinion, but headers and loud mufflers decrease the value of your truck. it announces... i've been driven by a teenager and had the crap run out of me..
save any extra money for potential (and likely) plenum repair, waterpump, front end work.

BTW you're lucky to have such awesome parents. I hope you'll appreciate your ride more than mostkids who get a freebie. Any mod you do will will never increase the value of your ride, (except to you)because it's old enough to be depreciated and new enough not to be a classic.
