There is/was
a professional shop out in Missouri
I think called McClains Diesel
that does Cummins swaps into gasoline engines
Offroad Magazines letters section has a piece where they say that
McClains Diesel Performance Center
Eureka MO
Telephone No. 636-938-1118
http://mcclaindieselperformance.com/...=1165965139927
specializes in converting gasoline vehicles like Jeeps and pickups into
Cummins 5.9 I6 diesels and the smaller Cummins I4 cylinder too.
All of the Chrysler factory parts to put a diesel in a Dakota
are available from a guy in Brazil who will ship to the USA
and somewhere there is a parts list of all the Chrysler part numbers
on the web for free. I think you can purchase an english language
overseas Dakota FSM in paper form from South Africa that lists the diesel version install and removal instructions. In many parts of the USA now they are not pollution testing pre-1996 vehicles so putting a diesel in a 1994-1995 Dakota can even be 'semi-legal'
Used Cummins I6 diesels can be found in many schoolbuses
and the I4 has powered many industrial waterpumps.
