Just noticed that the 285's are for a 7.5-9" rim. I have the stock steelies which I believe were 16x7's? Guess that tire is out of the question. So it is indeed between the 265/75/16 and the 255/85/16 Anybody have a good picture of 33 on a leveled 1500 that 4x4? Trying to get a better grasp for what 33's would look like under thetruck.
i you want my opinion get them. 33's almost fit stock and with the level they will definatley fit. you dont want a lot of space in the wheel well (or at least i dont) cause it makes the tires look small. your gears will be fine and you can still beat chevy's and ford's in the mudd.
damn!that is sweet. The more and more I look at the numbers... the more and more i get a little leary of the 33". From looking around it looks as if the v6 had the 3.21 gear with 225's. and I guess you could put 245's on it. However with the 3.21 gear ration, it was not recommended for towing. I dont really tow anything, but that is a clear indication of minimal low end torque. Well i have the 245's with 3.55's... so naturally i should go with the 265's. Looking at the ideal ratio chart, you should have 3.92's for better gas mileage with a 33. right now im in the better gas mileage range, stock as the truck sits now. Going with 33's would make the gearing at its max right now, or is tall geared. I found this site to be the most useful. here You will see what I mean.
