A little ? about my posi unit
I was told that there are two carriers for the 9.25 rear, one that holds gears up to 3.73, and one that holds hears 3.92 and up. First question, Is this true? Second question, I recall hearing this at one point in time, but I didnt pay it much mind, but from my recolection the split point was 4.11s, not 3.92s. Lastly, the trac lok unit I have, I dont know what was on it when it came out, could someone give me serial numbers or casting numbers for the carriers that were for each? thanks.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think the carrier change is for the D44 up front. I don't think there is a need for a new carrier on the 9.25, but hopefully someone who has changed gears out will have better info.

the carrier split that you are talking about is for the dana 44 front end, which in your case you don't have to worry about indy becuase you don't have one lol. Anyways there is no carrier split for the chrysler 9.25. (For those of use with font axles) You can get what's called thick gears to change your front d44 without having to change carriers. But in your case indy you don't have to worry about the carrier split

spaz_22 beet me to it....all ratios will fit in the 9.25, the D44 uses2 carriers one for up to and including 3.73, then one for above that, some common sizes (4.10, 4.56) have a special thick ring to adapt the small (numerically) carrier to work with the bigger (numerically) gears
