i always warm mine up. she don't like runnin without a warm upwhen its about 10 degrees in the morning. the one thing i hate is that it is one big sum bi*** to getwarmed up, by the time i get to work or school (10min drive) my temp gauge is barely 140 and i might be getting some slightly warm air comin out. shoot i get in my 'rents jeep and its warm in about 2min and its like a furnace inside.

The thought entered my head today, I let my truck warm up for 10 - 15 minutes while getting ready for work, got in truck and turned heater on, hot air definately came out being it warmed up so long and im in Cali.

If your heater is blowing out hot air, is that a good way to tell its ok to start driving ur truck after it warms up?

You should take your time to warm up your engine before go. I usually wait 5 to 6 minutes and I put in neutral, so my transmission fluid circulates to the radiator ( it helps my shifting, I have not changed it over to the new fluid - 46re ).
It is your investment, if they replace our trucks for free with new and improved rocket engines, email me...

Hello, Mike454,
How long ago did you checked or replaced the thermostat valve ? Make sure also your coolant is still good and not old.

I live in Iowa, I let my truck run in neutral for 30-60 seconds on the really cold mornings before I start driving. Thats about all the warm up I ever give it, unless there's been an ice storm.. then I let it run the whole time im chipping ice off of it.
