the colder the winter weather you have
the faster an electric block heater and oil heater pays for itself
by giving better MPG in the first 20 miles of driving

one side benefit of the Evans NPG coolant is that it warms the engine up faster in very cold weather by being 'sluggish' and more viscous in the radiator

the coldest I have started my Ram in is 13 below
and the Mobil 1 syn oil let the engine turn over easily
even with a 4 year old battery...but the battery was 1100 CCA

THe most obvious reason to let your truck warm up before you leave has nothing to do with the engine, but a lot to do with you....a warm truck is a more comfortable truck!!! THe block heater helps speed things along.

Do you let it idle in park or neutral? Letting it idle in neutral will let the tranny build up pressure as it allows the fluid to flow. No flow in park.

I thought N was the same a as park. The only differance is that it is not locking the output and tires in place. Is this wrong?

Tranny fluid doesn't circulate in Park. That's why they tell you to fill it and check fluid levels in neutral.
