Default oh no!

so i ran outa gas a couple nights ago tryin to make it to the sunco :P...anyway, my check engine light came on when my truck was sputtering trying to suck fuel from the tank....after i got gas the CEL was still on. I went to auto zone and had them scan the codes...he said i had a random misfire on cyclinders 1,2, and 3. What does this mean? and What do i need to buy or fix...please help. He said since its been a while since i did a tune up maybe thats what i should do? is this true?if so what one would yall recomend?

means your cylinders were starved for fuel and it thru a code... disconnect your battery for about 5~10 minutes and it will clear the codes. it shouldnt come back unless there is a problem.

since ya ran on fumes from the tank, please change your fuel filter... this will save your engine from the crud you just slurped up from the bowels of the tank.[:@]

you cant change the filter unless you drop the tank and change the pump aswell, the filter is part of the pump, and is inside of the tank

Yes, disconnect the battery and turn the key like you are cranking the engine.
This resets the computer.
