ahhhh my butt feels better
Man, the most I've ever paid for any exhaust work was like $200. I got true duals done for like $130, and the others I've done have been between $150 and $200. Now, I have put quite a bit of money into my current setup, but I bought the mufflers and installed them and the x-pipe myself and just got them all welded up for $40. I've never done headers, but I would only expect around $200 or less for the installation if I supply the headers. Hopefully I'll find out in the next couple of months
Hopefully you can find a better deal from somewhere else.

I just got the third quote. 800$ what a joke. I'm an electrician damit I'm just going to bend the conduit myself. Thats what I do all day anyways. I'll put the whole system together and have it installed.

Your missing one point I'M INSTALLING THE DAMN HEADERS MYSELF.I'll be brining in the system completly bare except with the headers installed and they still want 1000. They'll take off 320 if I supply the mufflers.
u can buy a welder and learn to do it yourself.
seriously at that price you would save ALOT and learn even more.
unless you know someone who can weld for you, but if not id start learning to weld.
actually what ron333 said seems intresting also. i had the idea to install long tubes bolted to some Y pipes, take off the cat. have a muffler shop weld a 12" pipe to each side of the muffler with a turn down on the other side. and attach one of those summit connectors.
cheap, easy and did i meantion cheap?

I'm from Utah as well and have never heard of an exhaust costing that much.....About two years ago (when I drove a Grand AM GT) I got a quote to have a true dual system installed (manifolds back) for $350. That included parts. I understand that was for a smaller car, but trucks (IMO) have more room to work with and shouldn't be much more than that???
If I'm reading this right, this is their quote just for the install? You are supplying all the parts?

NO this is a quote from the headers back and all of the material to do it. They are going to reuse my existing cats minus the one that isn't being monitored. If I provide the mufflers it would drop the price by 320.
Well at the very least get mufflers then because they're only $70 a peice. no point in paying 320 for 140 worth of parts.
But honestly I wouln't pay them to do it. Not only for the fact that with the money you're wasting on the installyou could go buy your whole exhaust system over again, but garages can't be allowed to think they can rip people off like that. You should think about vandalizing that place instead

Yea, I'm definetly not going with one of those shops. I've also decided to change the setup that I'm going to run. I'm going to run Longtubes to 3" Y. I'm going to completly remove the two minicats but keep the one big cat (modified of course) Then I'm going to go into a 3" SI/DO 2.25" with tips. I'm gointg to get the exhaust back system with the flowmaster on e-bay and then have a shop weld it all together. I relized that if I do true duals I'll be loosing low end. I'm trying to build as much lowend as I can. I don't own a race car I own a truck. I want to be able to rip a tree down. Damn tree huggers
Wait a sec I are one.
