I think i'll wait a couple months and spend the 300 for the fastman and air cleaner. Is there a link for the air breather for the valve cover, or is just a fairly generic one?

Generic. I use a Mr. Gasket that I bought at the parts store for about $5. But I have different valve covers then you most likely.

I have one. I did not see any MPG gains, but when you get on it, there is a significant difference. Cost was in the low $40.'s Cleaning is a snap. Take it out and wash it at night, shake it carefully, let it dry. Oil it and install it. I did not use the grease the second time.

You didnt oil the filter? Or you didnt put grease on the top to seal it in the housing?

The filter oil is whats actually responsible for most of the filtration on that type of filter, so if you arent using oil you may as well not even have a filter.

Yes KN gives you a small tube of grease to put on top of the air filter to help it seal...LOL... Now if you are stilling having a hard time understanding this , google is a great searching tool , and you can go to kn website and download the instructions..

I understand perfectly, have several of these filters, however I have known several people who just clean then and dont oil them afterwards thinking its not that big of a deal.

Looking back now, I realize he did say oil it and put it back in, just wanted to make sure.

One of my buddies was going to take his sand car out without oiling the filters on his dual 44's. I know, not too smart, but dont worry I made fun of him.

Just to make sure; I'd be replacing the yellow cap?
