Default Any experience with Accel Kit?

I found this all-in-one tune up kit from Summit for $95.88. Has anyone used this, or think it's a good deal, etc.? I know my bro ran Accel wires on his '67 GMC, but I don't know about their other products. I'm just trying to get ideas for when I do a tune in the spring. Is there another setup that is popular and cheaper?

Thx

I believe that kit would be OK. Just don't get their coil for your truck. Their coils usually are short lived.

That same kit is $187 from Autozone. I probably won't change the coil when I do a tune.

Ya I had an accel coil go bad on me too. I bought a msd coil and no problems ever since. I do have accel high temp. wire sets. I love them. You can put the wire on a hot header and it will not melt. Go for it.

Crazy,

Where did you find the MSD coil? Would it be okay to run the MSD coil with the ACCEL wires, plugs, dist. cap and rotor button?

Also, for anyone, would I be better off just buying the Autolites from Wallyworld with some good wires and just get the factory replacement dist. cap and rotor button?

msd coil can be found on ebay , summit racing part #8228 its a blaster coil factory replacement , but you will need the accel wiring harness to work with that coil (different plug ends) You can run any msd coil you want but some do need a ballest to use , unless you install the msd 6a then there is no need for a ballest.. you can get your plugs a walmart 3923..

Which plugs are best in the Autolites...the platinum or copper?
