Flowmaster Race Series Mufflers
lol yes it is. well you got to start by calling around. i know what you mean though. im just lucky and have known this guy a really long time. he also kind of lives on the edge too, and has a pretty disgusting mustang. it has no cats, so you can imagine hes quite alrite with the catless felony haha. but just keep calling around. that will be tough though, most guys dont even want to touch that. they wouldnt want to risk ruining their business just for some silly job that could ruin their credibility if they got caught...goodluck finding someone to do it though. im pretty confident it will really liven your system up.
Don't go with a super 40 flowmaster. They are too low sounding. I hated it. I wanted a louder truck, not quiter. SO i cut it off and put my glasspack back on. SOunds a lot lounder.
Where in maine are you? I just had an exhaust done yesterday and the guy did a great job. Added a high flow cat with a custom y pipe and a 3" inlet dual 2 1/2" outlet super 44 that comes out at an angle into 3 1/2" x 18" magnaflow tips. It sounds awesome. Does'nt resonate like a 40 series or have as deep a tone but I think it's "louder" and more race sounding. Also if you have a delta flow 40 it does'nt sound the same as the original. Hope this helps.
Well i wouldn't say they do or don't. They are so much smaller and don't have the chambers and baffles you are used too. All i can really comment on is my past personal experience. They just don't seem to be the same. More of a raw snap then the smooth traditional flowmaster tone. I mean you may think they do more then I. It seems two identical trucks with the same exhaust will put out differnt sounds even just slightly to totally obvious. To me they are more like the bullets then the 40 series you are used too. Again these are my own insights and should only be taken as ideas and something thats set in stone.
Well your input is appreciated lol. I guess what I should say though, is anything is going to be better than these bullets. The bullets sound good, but they just don't have the tone we want, or resonate the way we want them too. All he really wants is to make sure there is some kind of flowmaster muffler on there that's going to be loud like his bullet, yet have some kind of chamber the air has to go through. I think its the best solution, because neither of us want to put on two bulky 40 series mufflers, two of them is just a little overkill. I'll make him post vids up when its in.
Kurzram, I live in the Portland area. Do you live in Maine too?

Try running and H pipe and putting the flowmaster in the middle.
I have no idea if it will work or not, but if it works the way I intend it too then you'll get the flowmaster tone and it'll still be loud as hell.

Ok , I have some insight on this topic! I will agree that the Magnum engines are some of best sounding Small blocks on the planet! I' 've owned my 318 4x4 since 1994. Since that time I've tried a few different mufflers. 1) stock out the back with a 60 seies flowmaster, This lasted for about 3 years. It sounded good down low and at idle, not too loud, good for and urban setting. 2) Next I went with the same setup as above but with a Pro-flow Muffler, about the same but a bit quiter. 3)at this point my Cat got plugged while cruzin down the Hiway, so I replaced it with a hi flow cat. I wouldn't reccomend this unless you have to pass a smog test. And if you do get the Factory Y-pipe and cat assembly ,Its cheaper in the long run. 4) about a year of two later THAT cat plugged, so i figured a way around the smog test and visited My good freind at his exhaust shop! 5)stock manifolds, stock Y-pipe, custom 2 into 1 power Y, (with provisions for a O2 sensor), 18" intermeadeate pipe,40 series deltflow muffler, Then out the side in front of the passenger rear wheel, Pipe was angle cut to match the bodyline. To date this is what I'm running, And It sounds BADASS!!! I'll try and get a pic and video for ya'll. By the way My personal opinion on glass packs is THEY SOUND CHEAP, ROACHY,RATTY, AWFUL ETC,.,.. Which makes me believe the truck truck there in is the same. NO CLASS. just my opinion, they belong in a ford!
