Default HUMMER wheels & tires on your Ram 3/4 ton

Hummer factory standard, BF Goodrich All Terrians 315/70/17 load range D (Almost 35" tall and 11.5" wide)
Hummer factory standard, 17x8 seven spoke alloy wheel "looks a little like old Hurricane wheels without center cap"

I'm on a tight budget, and my dry rotted 265/75/16's were to dinky for my taste and trails in Phoenix area, I did not want to pay $700-$1200 on just new tires on (factory alloys) rims I don't realy like anyway.

I did a little searching online and found the Hummer H2 Wheels have same 8 lug bolt pattern as the Dodge

(the main reason for checking on this is, I see sets of these H-2 wheels and tires at shops and in classifieds all the time as a lot of richer people then me replace them with a sets of High $ bling blings)

I found a set on craigslist asking $450 about a 1/2 hour away, the guy let me test fit one before i bought them for $260 (4 wheels, 50% tread tires, caps) Great deal!

You need to mill out the centers to fit over the hubs...

A machine Shop in my area quoted over the phone $20-$30 a wheel and he was not even sure if he wanted to do it or how long it may take, could be more money.

that was enough for me to try doing it myself with a angle grinder, some time and care. It worked out fine and took about an hour

I will take some pictures asap, I have never posted a pic onto a forum but will give it a try.

also, I had a 4" hole saw so I decided to rape two of the stock Hummer H2 center caps to fit over rear full float hubs, worked perfect but I still think the bare nuts look ls tougher

Another trick for opening up the wheels is a straight router bit with a guide wheel on the bottom. I used a carbide one from the backside of the wheel, set the depth so the guide wheel hits the larger diameter of the center hole and trim away, nice clean and round hole. About 45 minutes for all 5 wheels and 20 of those were the first wheel. If you double nut your wheel studs, the stock Dodge wheel centers fit and look pretty good. They are the same diameter as the Hummer wheel center. Or you can carefully cut off ~ 1" all the way around the Dodge center, and they fit on the wheel nicely, and don't stick out too much. I practiced on a old center, the best results came from wrapping the OD of the center with masking tape, marking a line all the way around the center cap, and cutting it off with a 4" cut off wheel. I was able to get them nice and straight, and didn't damage the chrome.

BTW another good source is the Local Hummer Dealer, I paid 600.00 for 5 brand new take off rims The 2003-2007 style in Chrome, with the 315 70 16 BFG A/Ts. Still had the ink stripes around the thread. Only thing extra was I payed to have them re-balanced, after they removed the tire pressure sensors. The'08 wheels are a different style, and they wanted 900.00 for those, I like the 03-07 style better anyway.
