still waiting for the wife.. but in the meanwhile i disconnected the TPS and it started good but the rpm's at idle was at 1k.. higher then normal. then i plugged it back in and it stayed at 1k so i dont know what that means. i disconnected the MAP sensor and the rpm's kept going from 200 and going to 1000 back and forth.

just updating.

looks like im going to have to do this in the morning. my wife has a loaner car from lexus because her 2002 lexus rx300's tranny just crapped out on us so its at lexus right now getting a new tranny and its ready so they want the loaner back. so we have to go now to return it. meanwhile after a new transmission(which a extended warrenty paid for thank god) the guy says she needs a full brake job which is going to be $1100 that the warrenty doesnt cover!... if i do it its $200 in parts. so yea guess which we are going to do...

anyway ill post back in the morning after i get the reader.

You need to start by pulling codes out 1st and then go after the problem.

Mine does the same thing. My mechanic told me to clean the IAC, throttle body, and the recess the the IAC sensor threads or goes into. I have'nt done this yet to see if it fixes it. But this weekend I will since it's going to be warm outside. What I do to make the truck run when it won't idleis rev the motor to about 3,000 RPM when I start it. The RPM's come don't and then the truck Idles fine.

4 codes pulled

p0505 IAC malfunction
p0123 TPS volts high
p0108 MAP volts high
p0133 o2 bank 1 sensor 1 low volts

it cant be all 4 sensors can it??

i started the truck when i got here and it started fine. but idled at 1k. then i ran the code reader erased the codes. 10min. later i started it but it wouldnt start it died. so i took the iac sensor off and started it and it would go to 500 then drop to 200 then die.

any ideas?

well i started to take off the IAC but one of the screws is stripped. so i took the whole throttle body off so its easier to work on. of course something else broke as i was taken the TB off. one of the linkage plastic broke. hopefully its a easy fix.

anyway do you guys think its the IAC? or all 3 sensors?
