Default New to the Ram, couple of quick question

I've just bought a 2001 Ram 1500 with 97k miles on it. It appears the vehicle has been dealer maintained and it is clean under the hood and not leaking any fluids. It seems to run good.

Truck has:
3.9l V6, AC, AT, PS, PB, nice radio/CD, but no power windows, locks or power mirrors (whine!). Can these be added?

Trans seems to shift ok and wants to upshift pretty quickly. I drive with a light foot so maybe that's the reason.

Questions:

1) Where is the jack and tire wrench? I am not seeing it anywhere and wonder where it is from the factory. If I have one I need to know where to look.

2) any way to add power windows, locks, mirrors without spending tons of money?

3) Any quirks I need to know about as a new truck owner?

4) I am using valvoline in the engine but will switch to Rotella synthetic next oil change.

Thanks in advance!

D

ok thats alot of questions at once but ok

Where is the jack
OK first i need to know some info is it a reg cab or a extended cab, if extened it will be under rear seat if there is one, and reg cab check behind the seat under that black thing if there is one, or under the hood
Power windows and locks
if you want to you can buy kits at part stores that are DIY but they wont beable to hook into factory wiring harness, you will have to find the ignition wires to do that part
Quirks
not sure about the v6, but if its an auto tranny i think that you should be fine, because it has the v6 and not the v8 mabye the less power will help it out
Engine oil
not sure why u added this part

It's a standard cab, just two doors with no back seat. It does have a neat rack behind the seat to put stuff on so that is pretty helpful.

I kind of figured that adding power windows and all would be a lot of work... I was hoping there was some easy way to do it.

I looked for the jack under the seat but am not finding anything at all under the seat, on either side.

As for oil, everyone has an opinion on oil. I am on some motorcycle boards and they get into flame wars about it.

thx

Yeah we're pretty chill about that stuff on here. But my preference is Royal Purple. Good stuff, good stuff.

But welcome to Dodge Forum man!

the little bitty factory jack and lug wrench in my 01 reg cab is also under the passenger seat.
my real jack, 4 way lug wrench, and breaker bar is in the tool box in the back.

^^ I've never heard of that, I have a 97 jeep wrangler that I switched to synthetic when I got it. at 80k. changed oil after synthetic the first time at 1500 now at 3k every time. oil comes out slightly tinged black at 3k so the engine is perfectly clean. no adverse affects in now 35k miles

If anything it will help clean out whatever sludge "might" be there.
Just because the engine always had conventional oil doesn't mean it's overly dirty inside.
