Should have gone with the original 40 cheif.

Maybe 10 series if you're use to straight pipes.

I have electric cutouts on mine and after driving with them open mine sounds really quiet when i close them even though i have the orginal 40's. I plan on getting the super 44's soon though after i get some long tubes and will prolly get rid of the cutouts all together.

well maybe u do just have to let them break in,
I've never heard such foolishness
How does a non moving part break-in? If anything they will get more mellow and quiet as they carbon up a bit inside.
Sorry you didn't get the results you were hoping for. Put some megaphone tips on, that will make it louder.

how is it foolishness? ive been told by many people that it takes a little time for the muffles to really get louder.

You got the true dual on there right? Firstly, I think you should gut those cats. I had the magnaflow cat, and I just went ahead and gutted it, and it did wonders with sound. Secondly, that's weird. My brother had the same issue with his F-350. We put a true dual on his truck as well with two super 44 mufflers. And we were really dissapointed too! So he put dynomax bullets on there to louden her up. It got louder, but now it lacks tone. So he is now looking at getting either Flowmaster 10 series mufflers, or Cherry Bomb Extremes. That sucks, I didn't think that would do that to a dodge. I just figured it was because Fords weren't as loud. I mean that blows because you never know what your going to get with that. The 44 on my truck is just REDICULOUS. I feel bad, any sound clips man?? Firstly, if you want to stick with the 44s, gut your cats, it will help. If not though, get those 10 series, or the cherry bomb extremes, because my brther went through this as well with the super 44 true dual deal. Maybe just not enough air going through in a true dual sytem to louden it up? But yes, get some sound clips first!

You're thinking about glass packs.

Yeah, it really sucks you aren't happy with the 44's. Most of the other's seem to really like them, including myself. Not the loudest in the world, but they are loud enough on my truck and I love the tone they produce. I have true duals too and it is pretty loud. What diameter piping do you have? That could probably play a role in it as well.
