SLT to SPORT
IM JUST GETTING MY DODGE RAM READY FOR PAINT AND WAS WONDERING WHAT KIND OF PARTS DO I NEED TO CHANGE MY 1999 DODGE RAM FROM A REGULAR TO A SPORT? ANYTHING IS APPERICIATED!!!

sports don't have a lift or different gears, it's just an appearance upgrade. To get it to look like a new sport 99 to 2001 you'll need a sport bumper, and sport grille and that's it. Paint your bumpers, grille, and taillights the color of the truck and you'll never know it wasn't a sport. If you want to go top dollar you can get the quad beam headlights, but it isn't required. Not all sports came with the skid plates either it was just an option to be added.
If you want it to look like an older one, just paint your stock grill stock bumpers and taillight housing to match your truck....

As far as just appearance, "Sport" models with the "Off-Road" package have a factory lift, but to get just the basic "Sport" appearance, you will need the following.
[ol][*]Sport Grill - Painted body color[*]Sport Front Bumper - Painted body color[*]Front Bumper brackets(they are different than a regular Ram)[*]Sport fog lights(they are different than a regular Ram)[*]Headlights(not required unless you want to go all out)[*]Back Bumper(can use stock just sandblast and paint body color)[/ol]
I think that is pretty much it appearance wise.

The transmission brackets are different also. You will never find a body lift thats universal with the sport, slt, and the larmie. The sport model has its own specific body lift. No other body lift will work on it.
