Ok question...20dodge...the "new technology" you speak of actually came from the super 40 model. So its not really new. Also, if the super 40 is a failure how is it still selling?? So padodge, you think the super 40 si/do would be a great buy?? it has a good sound right? I just dont want to make the same mistake again. And i dont have a camera to get a sound of my truck. Do you like it more than the new super 44??

super 40 is louder IMHO
I wouldn't be too sure on that. The Super 40 that I ran on my 360 engine was too quite. You could almost turn the radio completly down and still hear the radio. And thats with it turned down under the cab. Way to quite. The super 40 is the worst muffler ever made by flowmaster IMHO.

Well im going to go with the original 40 series. I think ill like it much more.

Edit: well 20dodge ill give it some thought. But i need to hear the 44 on a stock 5.2L ram to get an idea.

The Original 40 muffler is their overall "LOUDEST" muffler.

THEN, over the summer, they released the Super 44 muffler. The mother of both worlds. This muffler is their "deepest" muffler. It outflows any of their other mufflers as well.

Where does the 10 Series fit in?

The 10 series is actually the loudest best flowing muffler they make. They're considered a race muffler.

I can cover you on that.... But i dont know how to get the video from my cam 2 the desktop. Maybe ill call up a bud and get him 2 do it. I have a cat back dual out rear with a super 44. Shes still has factory cat and everything. However I think its better for you to hear in person vs. a video. Sometimes videos just do not do justice. HAHA my favorite thing to do with this muffler is to pull into my development (which is on a downhill) and put her in first. Rev her up to around 3 grand and let off. Friggin amazing.... lol bet the neighbors love that @ 1 in the morn. I can't get enough of that back rumble.

The only difference is the cab noise .. Now headers , cat, pipe , tips will change the sound ... but out of 4 mufflers u see how many people said this is louder or this is louder ..see my point.. neon .. the super 44 just a remane of the orignal 40 series. 10 series is loud , wouldnt want that on a DD ..

Man, I guess i'm gonna be the only one to defend the super 40. I have it so I cant help but be biased. I think it sounds really good and I dont think its quite either. I have a single in dual out and its immediately dumped. I wish I had a camera so I could post some vids to justifly the super 40 a bit. As for performance, I dont know how it compares to any other muffler, but I do know its a noticeable gain above stock.

I'm not saying its any better than a 44 or original 40, Im just saying that IMO that its not really that quiet nor does it sound bad.

I will try and get some vids up, but by then I'm sure this thread will be old news.
