Default RWAL, ABS light on and Brake light on, no cruise

-1997 dodge ram 1500 -5.9 L -4x4 -125,000 miles Well, my abs and brake light are both on, have been for 3 weeks . I read all the posts figured I would replace the sensor in the rear diff. That didn’t fix it. I then referred to my Haynes Repair Manual and managed to extract the RWAL code. It is flashing a code 4, which is “Closed RWAL valve switch”. Any ideas on how to fix this? Also, my wife just called and told me the truck is dead in the water .It will not start at all. Are these two things related? Oh yea, the brakes are weird to. When you hit them hard, they just lock up, no ABS action. Any ideas? I need the lights to clear for my state inspection and I don’t want to take the truck to the dealer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This truck is gonna drive me nuts. So far I had to fix: Rust, Paint, Exhaust, O2 sensor, Water Pump, Timing Chain Gasket, Thermostat, Lower Radiator Hose. Now I have to fix this RWAl thing and figure out why the truck won’t start. As stated before, any help/support would help.

Those lights came on for me when my brake light fuse was blown.

You may have a blowen fuse for the abs, and on your speed control ck under your battery for a broken vacuum line.

i found that my diff sensor wires were pinched in between the fuel tank straps and the frame and my abs light is blown so try and fallow the wires and look for any pinches or breaks. i need to drop my tank to remove the wires so i havent done it yet

I too blew a fuse in my 96 and had the same issue. Do you have any brake lights??? I drove around for about 2 weeks with no brake lights. Turned out I had shorted out my trailer wires and it caused the fuse to blow.
