What that chip does is try to fool your computer a little into thinking you need a richer fuel mixture. So it sends more and you think you have more power. However, in time your computer learns that the information it receives is truly not correct so it re-learns how it should run and goes back to the original.

Hypertech, Superchips, and custom flashes actually modify the programming inside your computer. Custom flashes like B&G are great for people with many mods as the flash is designed to work with those mods. If you've no mods, or very few the Hypertech or Superchips can help. I have no opinion on either of those as I have the B&G custom flash so somebody else needs to give their 2 cents worth on how they liked the Hypertech or Superchips.

 

Thanks guys i kinda figured, i really laughed cause i saw the one about the spark plugs earlier, im goin to buy a superchip in the spring and 285/75-16 tires because they will be toast well that are already getting there

 

I bought 5 and stacked them ontop of another...I have to say, the gains are QUITE impressive! I recomend it to everyone!

So, Wait. Im confused a bit. If you have mods then you JUST get the flash? or can you do both the flash and the hypertech? Lets see.. if you do both the flash and put in a hypertech it would have over all better performance? or would the flash make the chip obsolete..

 

The flash is basically the same thing as the hypertech. The difference is that the hypertech really only has one (maybe two w/ the octane setting) performance settings and it is standard accross the board. A flash will be a reprogramming of your computer (same as the hypertech does) but will be very specific to your mods.

so in short, they are the same thing. You would do one or the other, not both. Hope that helps.
