The Supertec is made by Champion labs. It's a decent filter for the money. under $3
Mopars are nothing special equivalent to Fram orange can.
The Frams are cheaply made but are more than adequate for a 3k interval.
I wouldn't fault anyone for NOT using them. A better filter can be had for the same or less $

Mopar filters are made by Purolator in most cases, but you have to watch. Some are made by Champion, and are not very good. Just read the fine print on the filter. Purolators are a pretty good filter overall.

Checker Auto has Royal Purple for $6.99/qt. for 10W30, so I figure about $45-$50 for a change (with a good filter) ain't bad. Done every six months, about $100/yr. for oil changes with good products...better than about $80/yr.with normal oil. I just changed my wife's oil and put a Supertech filter on, so we'll see how it does.

Would have been good to include
Fleetguard filters
which is 100% owned by Cummins
and exists solely to provide high quality oil and air filters
to go on the Cummins engines new
so that more of them don't have warranty problems
that Cummins ends up paying for
both in money and reputation.

I voted for the Mobil One
but since the question was for high mileage between changes
I mean the longer filter, which I think is Mobil One Model 301
which is 2 inches longer than stock.

You can spend your money more wisely
but changing oil more often without a filter change
and buying the best filter possible
and leaving it on through multiple oil changes.

On the new Rams find out how to read your engine's built-in hour meter.

I was mainly looking at set-ups for gas burners. Sorry, didn't mean to leave the diesels out of the mix...
