Default Noise Every 9 Seconds

I am new to the Dodge Ram. I have a 01 Ram 4x4 318 Quad Auto 41K miles. About every 8 to 10 seconds, I hear a noise in the engine area that sounds like a relief valve or something. The sound is very noticeable. Any Ideas?

Turn off your defroster and AC. See if the noise goes away.
Sounds like an AC compressor short-cycling to me, maybe....

Could be that the Ram was just chewing up the last bit of silverado it had in it's mouth too.

The 99 I just purchased was doing the same. One large can of coolant added to the AC system solved the problem. Hopefully this will help.
