WAIT hold on a seond your cel light has never come on? If you had a code for a misfire your CEL light should have been blinking at you and the other troble codes are enough for the cel to be on constantly. A blinking cel means pull your *** over theres something wrong. A steady cel means you might want to take a look. If your cel light didn't come on for those codes that the mechanic told you about then you have a burned out cel light. I wonder what other codes you might have had before you reset the pcm?

You can have stored codes that don't trigger a CEL to come on. I once criss-crossed my plug wires. I new it as soon as I started the truck, but the CEL never came on in that time. My Hypertech showed the code for misfire though.

well it could have been running crapy cuz it was only registering 1 side of the exhaust??? Just thinkin. I though he just lost torque in the beginning. The front o2 fits, but he spliced the rear o2 i thought. how does "xskylinedx" ??? I think thats is sn? yea how does he have things run?
The headers have an O2 bung on the passanger side, basically where the stocker was (not pipe related position but chassis related position). It was explained to me, by more than one source, that the O2 reading off just the right side would work just as well as it did when it read after the y-pipe (suprised me). As for the rear, my O2 sim should be arriveing today and I'm very sure it will clean up my rich condition. As I see it he needs a new O2 sensor. O2's can make or brake how well the engine runs, even the rear sensor canmake yourtruck runlike **** if its not up to snuff.

Hey 20Dodge got a question for ya; Did that jackhole mech. install the rear O2 sensor? if he did unplug the thing, that will give you a neutral value.

The sim will not clear up a rich condition. There is no way possible. You could argue that it might clear up a lean condition but, in everything that I've seen the rear O2 does nothing for theway our trucks run. Some cars if they sense issues on the rear O2 will throw the vehicle into limp mode so that you don't damage the cat. Limp mode in this case would be leaning out the mixture. But as far as our trucks go no way will a sim fix a rich condtion I'll bet money on it.

Your right some things won't throw a code right away. I would think with all thats going on with his truck the cel would have been lit. Especially for something as serious as the O2 sensor.

Its not like its pig rich, I can just tell its a little rich. No offense (seriously) I'm just not in the mood to fight about it. Mechanics I've talked to that work on Dodge tell me thata badrear O2 will cause the truck to not run ideally. That it will f the mixture up because the front and rear need to work together. I got the feeling your definately right about a rear O2 (or sim)not fixinga super rich condition.

Dealer called me back, they don't even want to tackle the job, pussies. They said they don't have anyway of getting ahold of aftermarket parts to fix the wiring on rear 02 sensor. He said that a new wire needs to be run that will be able to reach the sensors without being spliced. So, I have no choice, I have no money to pay anybody else for this job, I am making the mechanic who put the headers in fix the truck until it runs like it did before the headers. The only thing this guy has going for him is that he's a nice guy, and he is in 40's, so he isn't cranky. Theres nothing I hate more than someone who ****s your truck up that is an ******* too. But I called him, this time just really depressed and angry sounding. I told him what's been going on. He is convinced that his splicing wouldn't cause those issues. Now as far as I am concerned, both 02 sensors are hooked up. Also, I'm not sure why not one cel light has come. The truck is barely moving, you would think something would show up. Would codes 132, 138, and 301 cause a cel light? Those were the codes the "tune-up mechanic" said came up on his diagnostic. Would those be codes you think that should flash a light? All I know if this truck has never shown a check engine light. I feel bad for making you guys deal with this ****, I know it's been way too drawn out and a ton of variable bullcrap, but you guys are my last chance. If this guy cant make my truck run like it did before, I am ****ed. I have no way of making it right. At least the dealer didn't make any **** up, but I knew they would be pussies. They just get annoyed when they see trucks with modifications other than a catback exhaust. They only want to deal with stock situations, and I guess I can't blame them. Anyways, I have to bring the truck back to the header shop once more. I still have to pick the truck up from the dealers tonight, I hope I can get it there without a towe, it's a 20 mile drive though, yikes. I hope he can just get it right though guys. The 2nd time I brought it to him, the truck was shutting off on me, but it wasnt anything notable yet, I had just assumed the PCM was still learning the headers. But this time I bring it to him, it's all focused on getting the truck to run right, so maybe he will address the situation. Anyways, any mroe thoughts what you guys thinkis going on will help me. Tomorrow I plan to go to him with set things to lead him in the right direction because I cannot afford to pick this truck up again with it running like ****, I'm getting sick of it, as most of your are[8D]. As I always say, thanks guys, you guys are awesome.
